5 Questions With Bruuns Bazaar

CIFF had the pleasure of interviewing Bruuns Bazaar, one of the most successful brands Denmark has produced to date. At CIFF, we are proud to welcome Bruuns Bazaar to our family as it will be the first time the brand exhibits at CIFF.

Can you describe the current Bruuns Bazaar customer?
The Bruuns Bazaar customer is a modern woman who desires a cool contemporary look and has a true desire for Scandinavian aesthetic - cool comfort and a relaxed elegance. She has wish for the premium fashion segment, where good qualities and high craftsmanship meet affordable price points.

 

What can we expect from the SS18 collection?
The Bruuns Bazaar SS18 represents an ambience of contrasts. Romantic and flouncy dresses pairs with the cool manly classics revisited, such as the woollen man pant and the trench re-imagined. A true fusion of romantic and nonchalant coolness.The colour palette is based on shades of tan, burned red, dusty green, baby blue and a glimpse of yellow in a fundament of black, white and navy. Artworks express artistic florals, leo animal and not the least, the play of various stripes, graphic black white and pinstripes.

 

What has the design process been like for this collection?
We have explored various vintage samples and in particular been fascinated by the details of the classic shirt, exploring shapes and details such as high cuff, collars, sleeves, as a core detail of the collection.

 

Where is Bruuns Bazaar today and what are the plans for the future?
Nordic simplicity and cool comfort is the fundamental key to our vision.We aim to focus and stay true to the strong brand DNA of Bruuns Bazaar, yet by and ongoing development to add a hint of edge. To explore and meet the modern and cool woman of today, who is not afraid to add a hint edge to complete her wardrobe.


It is the first time Bruuns Bazaar is exhibiting at CIFF. Why did Bruuns Bazaar choose CIFF as the platform for showcasing its upcoming collection?

CIFF is a strong and innovative fair covering both Danish, Scandinavia and international markets. Here we can meet our buyers from all across Europe - we see it as a natural platform for showcasing our new S18 collection.
