BJÖRN HUGASON

Björn Hugason is an Icelandic designer currently working out of his studio in Florence, Italy. After studying pattern making and tailoring at Technical College in Reykjavík, he completed a three year BA program in fashion design at Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan. Björn then relocated to Berlin after his studies to work with the artisanal label DEEPTI. In 2022, he established his eponymous label Björn Hugason by showcasing a collection of naturally dyed garments; a personal project born out of a pilgrimage walk. His work captures passage of time, through natural dyeing and slowly aging tones and textures of carefully sourced sustainable fibers. All garments are slowly handmade in Florence by bespoke tailors and craftsmen in their small ateliers, thus preserving true craftsmanship, measured production and personal approach
