MAIMAI

Maimai was born in 2012 from the same spirit of initiative that has been driving one of the most important luxury footwear manufacturing companies in Italy for many years. The great competence, the knowledge of Made in Italy, the desire to express and communicate the own indispensable identity have given life to a fresh, light, free brand. MAIMAI, combines a contemporary global life-style with the local culture of Salento, the wonderful land in Southern Italy where it was born, to create its unique shoes. The colors, scents, shapes and art of Salento are the basis of the inspirations of each collection, even the name of the brand itself. Some characterizing elements of the products, in fact, are the acanthus leaf, an icon of the Baroque style decorations, and the luminarie lights, that adorn the streets during festivity days. These are interpreted in perforations and lateral details that embellish the shoe. The attachment to its land and the desire to safeguard and enhance it are among the core values of MAIMAI. Each pair of MAIMAI is created exclusively with Solar energy and the gardens of the HQ are populated by local flowers and plants that help reduce the CO2 present in the atmosphere. Furthermore, the factory’s laboratories are constantly working towards the adoption of materials as well as the creation of products which are totally eco-sustainable. MAIMAI is also a very active reality on the side of enhancing the people of its territory: the brand is founding member of the Made in Italy Polytechnic, a school that is committed to training technical and managerial figures in the world of fashion, and it is also promoter of various cultural events.
