What is the recipe to a successful sustainable start-up? How do you scale unique pieces made in recycled and upcycled materials? Swedish fashion designer Ellen Hodakova Larsson launched her eponymous label right after graduating from the Swedish School of Textiles in 2019. In just a couple of years, Hodakova has established herself as a unique talent and secured financial backing, a collab with Weekday and an in-crowd following. With an uncompromising approach to fashion, Hodakova merges upcycling with surrealist aesthetics and proves that sustainable fashion can be humorous, sexy and conceptual. In conversation with Ane Lynge-Jorlén from Designers’ Nest, Hodakova will share insights on her sustainable practice, aesthetics and early-career learnings.
