SHOULD WE SAVE THE EARTH OR SAVE MONEY?
In today's volatile market consumers and brands are faced with the same dilemma: Should we make decisions according to our values or focus on saving money? Reports show that the majority of consumers might have their values regarding sustainability intact, but they end up purchasing cheaper and less environmentally friendly alternatives. For brands it's cheaper to source uncertified materials and it's tempting to stop costly development projects within sustainability in a time of recession. And would brands sell the same amount of products if they did? Is it okay to forget or postpone what we know is best for Earth in financially tight times? Where is the border between making money (or simply sustaining yourself) as a business and doing the right thing? And where lies the responsibility to create positive change?
