CIFF partners with Malmö Designer Village – the UPCOMING Premium Outlet Village for Scandinavia
We’re proud to announce our partnership with Malmö Designer Village, an ambitious new retail destination set to become a key hub for fashion, lifestyle and experiences in Scandinavia. The partnership reflects a shared vision of supporting fashion and lifestyle brands through future-oriented retail formats that combine premium positioning, catchment, accessibility and strong consumer experiences.
CIFF and Malmö Designer Village work together to bridge brand storytelling, physical retail and destination-led experiences. With its carefully curated mix of international and Scandinavian brands, Malmö Designer Village is a natural fit for many of the brands represented at CIFF.
A premium outlet village built for scale and reach
Malmö Designer Village will host more than 130 international and Scandinavian fashion and lifestyle brands across a total gross lettable area of 26,000 sqm. Phase 1, covering 18,000 sqm, is scheduled to open in 2027. Located in southern Sweden, the village benefits from a strong cross-border catchment area, reaching consumers from Malmö, Copenhagen and the wider Greater Copenhagen region.
A balanced category and brand mix
The category mix is designed to deliver both breadth and depth, with fashion accounting for a significant share of the offer, complemented by sports & outdoor, beauty & accessories, home, and food & beverage. The ambition is to create a destination that combines well balanced premium brands with lifestyle and sportswear labels, appealing to a broad yet quality-driven audience.
SMAK & HYGGE – a social and culinary meeting point
At the heart of the village, the Street Food Market SMAK & HYGGE will act as a vibrant social hub inspired by the food halls of Malmö and Copenhagen. Blending Danish and Swedish flavours with international street food, classic fika cafés and lighter, health-conscious options, SMAK & HYGGE is designed as a place to pause, connect and enjoy.
Designed with sustainability at its core
Malmö Designer Village is being developed with a strong sustainability focus, combining responsible architecture with long-term operational efficiency. The village integrates energy-efficient solutions such as geothermy and smart energy management to significantly reduce its environmental footprint.
Extensive landscaped areas, pedestrian-friendly pathways and green mobility solutions further support a low-impact, open-air retail environment.
The open-air village concept reflects Scandinavian design values and placemaking, creating an environment that balances commercial success with environmental and social responsibility.
A new platform for CIFF brands
For CIFF brands, the partnership with Malmö Designer Village opens new opportunities to explore premium outlet retail in an experience-driven setting—without compromising brand identity. Together, CIFF and Malmö Designer Village support brands as they evolve their retail strategies and connect with consumers in meaningful, long-term ways.
